Obituary
Ray Hogan: Vale Comrade!
Ray Hogan was the former Branch Secretary of the former Miscellaneous Workers Union (MWU) from 1973-1990 and President from 1990-1994.
Ray’s participation in the union began in the 1950s when he was a union delegate at Kodak, signing up workers in his lunch breaks.
Ray was one of the leading participants in the growth of the MWU from a small union in the mid 1950s to a large and influential union in the 1990s before amalgamating with the Federated Liquor Trades Union. He worked to achieve significant industrial wins for members across a number of industry sectors.
Ray was also President of the Victorian Trades Hall Council and President of the Victorian ALP, as well as a long-term member of the National Executive of the ALP.
Sadly missed by all. Sincere condolences to his family.
