When the World Said No to War
The Pine Street Gallery in the Sydney suburb of Chippendale was packed to overflowing at the opening of the When the World Said No to War photography exhibition.
The photographs were taken at the massive anti-war demonstrations on February 15-16, 2003, in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne and overseas including France, Italy and Greece.
The exhibition was opened by John Pilger, who was one of the speakers at the huge rally in Sydney on that day and storyteller and educator Donna Jacobs Sife also told three stories.
There are 30 major photographs complemented by a further 24 smaller pieces selected from hundreds submitted by Sandy Edwards, Co-director of Stills Gallery, and photojournalist Steve Dupont. They are of a high standard and well worth seeing.
The exhibition was organised by Karen Adler and is open until February 12 at 64 Pine St, Chippendale. Further info: Karen Adler 9361 4441.
